I shared this exciting news on my Facebook page last week, but I wanted to share it on my BLOG in a little more detail. Last week I was beyond excited when I received an email confirming that my image below has been accepted for hanging in the PineRidge Arts Council’s Juried Photography Exhibition!! Over 450 images were submitted and only 45 were chosen (45 chosen in the Adult division, 11 chosen in the Youth division) to be displayed! I am truly honoured that my image has been chosen as one of the 45. In the past couple years, I have really grown as a photographer, artist and business, I truly love what I do and this recognition means so much to me.
The opening reception and awards presentation will be held at the McLean Community Centre in Ajax, on Thursday, April 17th at 7pm.
The Exhibit will be open from April 17th to May 24th at the McLean Community Centre where the chosen images will be on display for viewing.
I am so proud and extremely excited to be a part of this event. This image is of my youngest daughter, which makes it that much more special that it was chosen. Perhaps I will share a pullback/SOOC of this image in the future. I had envisioned this photo for a while and wanted a sleeping picture of her for so long, but she’s not one to fall asleep out of her crib. One day, when I saw that she had fallen asleep in her car seat, as soon as we got home, I knew I had to get the shot, she was fast asleep with all that available light!! I grabbed my camera and literally took this picture on my knees from the front passenger seat of our Murano.
